Code of Conduct

Purpose

Not a Wedding Crasher (“NAWC”) is a trust-based marketplace that connects hosts with guests for wedding celebrations. Because users may meet in person and share sensitive event information, all users are expected to maintain high standards of honesty, respect, safety, and accountability. NAWC’s verification, reporting, and conduct rules are intended to support trust and safety, but they do not eliminate all risk. Users remain responsible for their own decisions, conduct, safety, communications, and compliance with applicable law and event rules.

NAWC may remove users, cancel bookings, restrict accounts, withhold payouts, or report serious issues when appropriate.

Scope

This Code applies to all activity on and off the Platform that relates to NAWC, including account creation, profile content, communications, listing creation, seat requests, approvals, payments, attendance at events, post-event interactions, and communications with NAWC personnel. This Code applies even when conduct occurs outside the Platform if the conduct relates to a NAWC listing, booking, event, host, guest, venue, vendor, payment, communication, or safety concern.

Community Principles

Users are expected to act with integrity, hospitality, respect, transparency, personal responsibility, and good judgment. The Platform is designed to facilitate meaningful participation in celebrations and should never be used to exploit, deceive, harass, intimidate, or endanger others.

Accurate Representation

Users must provide truthful and accurate information regarding identity, age, photographs, social profiles, biographies, event details, availability, and communications. Fake accounts, impersonation, misleading profiles, identity concealment, or fraudulent representations are prohibited.

Identity Verification Standards

Users must comply with applicable verification requirements. Verification is a risk-reduction tool only. It does not guarantee identity, safety, suitability, character, background, intentions, legal compliance, financial reliability, future conduct, or endorsement by NAWC. Attempts to evade verification requirements, manipulate verification results, or use another person’s credentials are prohibited.

Guest Responsibilities

Guests must attend only approved events, follow host instructions, comply with venue rules, behave respectfully, arrive prepared, and honor commitments made during the booking process. Guests are responsible for transportation, lodging, personal expenses, compliance with local laws, and their own conduct. Guests may not bring any companion, plus-one, friend, family member, child, or other person unless that person has been separately approved through the Platform and has completed all required verification, payment, waiver, and policy acceptance steps. A user may not accept terms, waive rights, authorize payment, or provide consent on behalf of another adult unless NAWC expressly permits that process in writing.

Host Responsibilities

Hosts must provide accurate information, maintain authority to invite guests, communicate honestly, review requests fairly, honor confirmed reservations whenever possible, and promptly communicate material changes affecting attendees. Hosts must have actual authority from the couple and any other necessary decision-makers to list seats, approve guests, accept or authorize monetary contributions, and share event details. Hosts are responsible for confirming that guest attendance through NAWC does not violate venue contracts, catering agreements, guest-count restrictions, alcohol-service rules, insurance requirements, privacy obligations, or applicable law.

Day-of-Event Compliance

Users must follow all check-in procedures, arrival times, seating assignments, dress codes, privacy rules, venue restrictions, host instructions, and staff directions. Users may not enter restricted areas, interfere with vendors, disrupt the ceremony or reception, pressure hosts or guests, solicit business, or attempt to change seating, meal, bar, or access arrangements without host approval.

Companion and Group Requests

Users participating in companion or group requests must ensure that all group members comply with Platform requirements. Group leaders may not misrepresent companions or submit requests on behalf of individuals without authorization.

Respectful Conduct

Users must treat all individuals with dignity and respect. Harassment, bullying, humiliation, retaliation, intimidation, discriminatory conduct, hateful behavior, threats, stalking, or abusive language are prohibited.

Safety and Personal Boundaries

Users must respect physical, emotional, social, and cultural boundaries. Unwanted physical contact, coercive behavior, sexually inappropriate conduct, predatory behavior, or actions that make others feel unsafe are prohibited.

Alcohol and Substance Use

Guests and hosts are expected to exercise good judgment regarding alcohol consumption. Excessive intoxication resulting in disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate conduct may result in removal from an event and Platform enforcement action. Illegal drug activity is prohibited. Users may not provide alcohol to anyone under the legal drinking age or to any person who is visibly intoxicated. Users may not pressure others to drink or use substances. Users are responsible for arranging safe transportation and may not drive while impaired. Hosts are responsible for ensuring that alcohol service complies with venue rules and applicable law.

Wedding Etiquette Expectations

Guests should remember they are attending a personal celebration. Users should be courteous to hosts, families, wedding parties, vendors, and venue staff. Disruptive conduct, attempts to draw attention away from the celebration, or behavior inconsistent with event expectations is prohibited.

Privacy and Confidentiality

Users must protect personal information obtained through the Platform. Venue addresses, schedules, attendee information, personal contact information, and event details may not be misused, redistributed, sold, scraped, or used for unrelated commercial purposes. Users may not publish or disclose exact venue addresses, private schedules, family details, guest lists, photos of minors, private conversations, medical or allergy information, or personal contact information without appropriate permission.

Photography, Recording, and Social Media

Users must comply with host and venue policies regarding photography, recording, livestreaming, tagging, content creation, and social media posting. Hosts may establish additional event-specific restrictions. If a user is unsure whether photography, recording, livestreaming, tagging, or posting is permitted, the user must ask the host before capturing or sharing content. Guests may not attend an event primarily for influencer, promotional, journalistic, commercial, or content-creation purposes unless expressly approved by the host and NAWC.

Venue, Property, and Vendor Respect

Users must respect venues, accommodations, transportation providers, vendors, equipment, and personal property. Theft, vandalism, property damage, unauthorized access, and misuse of facilities are prohibited.

Fraud, Circumvention, and Platform Integrity

Users may not circumvent Platform fees, conduct off-Platform transactions designed to avoid fees, engage in payment fraud, submit improper chargebacks, manipulate reviews, create duplicate accounts, or interfere with marketplace operations.

Prohibited Activities

Prohibited activities include illegal conduct, violence, weapons violations, threats, trafficking, exploitation, spam, scams, deceptive practices, unauthorized solicitation, phishing, malware distribution, account sharing, data harvesting, and unauthorized commercial activity. Weapons, dangerous items, explosives, illegal substances, and items prohibited by the venue or applicable law may not be brought to any event.

Users may not use NAWC events to solicit business, promote products or services, recruit users, collect leads, sell goods or services, conduct interviews, distribute marketing materials, or create commercial content without prior written approval.

Fair Treatment and Non-Discrimination

Hosts retain discretion to approve or decline requests, but users may not engage in discrimination, harassment, exclusion, or abusive conduct that violates applicable law, NAWC policies, or the dignity and safety expectations of the Platform.

Communications Standards

Users must communicate respectfully and honestly. Repeated unwanted communications, harassment, abuse of messaging systems, spam, solicitation, and attempts to pressure or manipulate other users are prohibited.

Reporting Concerns

Users should promptly report safety concerns, misconduct, fraud, policy violations, emergencies, suspicious activity, or illegal conduct. Reports should be made in good faith and may be investigated by NAWC. In an emergency or immediate safety threat, users should contact emergency services or venue/security personnel first. Platform reports should not be used as a substitute for emergency assistance. NAWC does not provide emergency services or real-time emergency monitoring.

Investigations

NAWC may review reports, request information, preserve records, communicate with affected parties, restrict accounts during investigations, and cooperate with law enforcement, regulators, payment providers, and service providers where appropriate. NAWC is not obligated to investigate every report or to take any particular action. NAWC may determine the scope, timing, and outcome of any review in its discretion, subject to applicable law.

Enforcement

NAWC may issue warnings, remove content, suspend accounts, deny verification, revoke approvals, cancel listings, restrict Platform access, permanently remove users, withhold certain Platform privileges, or take other actions reasonably necessary to protect the Platform and its users. Violations may also result in denial of entry, removal from an event, cancellation of a confirmed seat, loss of refund eligibility, payout holds or reversals, reporting to venues or authorities, and suspension or termination of Platform access.

Appeals

Users may request review of certain enforcement actions. Submission of an appeal does not guarantee reinstatement. NAWC retains discretion regarding final enforcement decisions. Certain actions, including emergency safety restrictions, event-day removals, payment holds, legal compliance measures, and actions required by payment processors or law enforcement, may not be eligible for appeal.

No Reliance on Verification or Approval

Host approval, guest confirmation, identity verification, profile information, reviews, badges, or Platform communications should not be interpreted as a guarantee that any person, listing, event, venue, or interaction is safe, suitable, lawful, or accurate.

Respect for the Couple and Private Nature of the Event

Guests should not attempt to become the focus of the event, interfere with the couple’s planned experience, monopolize the couple’s time, request special treatment, pressure the host for additional access, or engage in conduct inconsistent with the private and personal nature of the celebration.

No Romantic/Sexual Targeting

Users may not use the Platform or events to pursue unwanted romantic, sexual, or intimate contact, pressure others for dates, contact information, photographs, private meetings, or unwanted continued communications.

Relationship to Terms of Service

Violations of this Code constitute violations of the Terms of Service and may also affect rights and remedies under any applicable Host Certification, Guest Event Waiver, Fee, Payment, Cancellation, and Refund Disclosures, event-specific rules, or other supplemental terms.

Changes to this Code

NAWC may update this Code periodically. Continued use of the Platform after updates become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised standards.
