I never had a wedding of my own. When I got married we went to the court house. I love weddings. I even volunteer for weddings at my church. My favorite volunteer moment was during a wedding rehearsal. I was in charge of opening the door for the bridal party. After everyone walked down the aisle only the bride, her father, and me were left behind the door. The bride looked at her father and said "Don't cry daddy", but it was too late. Her father was crying so hard that he made me cry too. Then the brides song played and I opened the door for them to walk down the aisle. I watched as the father wiped his eyes all the way to the groom standing proudly at the alter. I will never forget that rehearsal moment. It was my favorite volunteer moment. Volunteering is hard work but these little glimpses into the lives of these families are beautiful. But being a volunteer at the church means I don't go to the reception. I experienced a lot of weddings through my volunteer work but I would love to go to some receptions. Watching the first moments of the new husband and wife celebrate their love. Finding this website might give me the chance to experience the celebration after the wedding.
